Sundried Tomatoes In The Oven

Sundried Tomatoes are another one of those pricey items that you can make for much cheaper at home. With a few ingredients you already have in your kitchen and an entire day to spare, oven sundried tomatoes are something you should put on your to do list.

  • 3 lbs firm Roma tomatoes
  • Salt
  • Dried herbs of choice if desired
  1. Preheat oven to 200° – 225°
  2. Slice tomatoes in half and with a spoon remove the seeds.
  3. Place tomatoes skin side down on a baking pan lined with tin foil or parchment paper.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and herbs if using.
  5. Bake in the oven for 4 hours then flip the tomatoes over so they are skin side up and bake for another 4 – 6 hours.
  6. You want a dry, leathery feel from them and keep in mind they will not all finish at the same time. Around 8 hours you should be close or already removing some tomatoes.
  7. Store in the fridge or in a jar of oil.
